What is Scalp Dermatitis ?
Scalp dermatitis is an inflammatory condition that aects the scalp causing redness, itching, flaking, and scaling. It affects both children and adults and varies in severity.
Types of Scalp Dermatitis :
- Seborrheic Dermatitis – most common, Oily, yellow scales with redness (dandruff in mild cases). Can affect face, chest and back also.
- Atopic Dermatitis – Dry, itchy and inflamed scalp linked to eczema. Often associated with allergies.
- Contact Dermatitis – When the scalp comes in contact with irritant or allergen, like hair care products, or dyes. It results in redness, itching, and sometimes blistering.
